Meet Dr. Jag
Candidate for Antioch School Board, Area 2
My life’s passion is teaching and fostering educational leaders – and I need your help in building stronger, vibrant schools and classrooms that work for all our children.
Like many of you, my life hasn’t always been easy. Growing up, I attended nine schools, was misplaced in a special education classroom in second grade and became a teenage mom at the age of 17. Despite these challenges, I worked hard to get my life on the right track. Today, I’m a proud mom and grandma, the first in my family to graduate college, and earn a Doctor of Educational Leadership.
I have dedicated my entire career to serving you as a public-school teacher, school principal, academic administrator, and education consultant. I’m committed to reinvesting in our schools, students, and the future of education. And I’m ready to fight to make Antioch schools the number one choice for families.
As your school board member, I’ll fight to ensure: (1) all students have access to high-quality education; (2) all teachers have the tools and resources needed to meet the complex needs of our children; (3) all families feel a sense of connection and belonging to their neighborhood schools; (4) a diverse teacher workforce that’s reflective of our local communities; (5) at-risk students excel; (6) we develop effective, equitable policies; and (7) we build a culturally responsive, identity-affirming, learning community for every school and classroom.
I humbly ask for your vote.
Effective equity work doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
It’s the result of systems design.
